Department Head - Child and Family Services

Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare is different from other children’s hospitals for one simple reason: our focus.  Gillette is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in the diagnosis and treatment of children, teens and adults who have disabilities and complex medical conditions. We focus on providing our patients with an exceptional depth of expertise, rather than trying to provide care for all pediatric conditions. Our patients’ needs are extensive and, in many cases, require lifelong care.

Gillette is seeking qualified candidates for the Department Head position of our Child and Family Services (CFS) department in St. Paul, MN.  The CFS department is comprised of highly skilled professionals who support Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, Neuropsychology, Psychology, Social Work, Interpreter Services and Chaplaincy for patients and families in an integrated clinical environment.  The ideal candidate will have strong core values, integrity, and vision that align with department and organizational goals.  They will also have the ability to inspire shared purpose, build team morale, and empower others.

This role is responsible for the daily operations to ensure optimized fiscal management, develop new programs and grow staff while supporting Gillette’s mission and goals. Qualified individuals will need to come with strong operational leadership skills with a clinical background. Additionally, as an advocate for these departments the manager will work to support excellence in healthcare, research and education that serves a unique patient population.

Position requirements include:
•       Master’s degree obtained or in progress
•       Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience relevant to the position
•       Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership, supervisory or managerial role within a relevant clinical setting
•       The ability to initiate and complete significant and complex process improvement initiatives that involve a number of stakeholders
•       Demonstrated ability to work closely with physicians and clinical providers
