Graduate Program Coordinator

This position works independently and is responsible for coordinating and managing all activities of the Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry Graduate Program (MCBGP), which is an interdepartmental program involving multiple departments at Brown University.  

- Provides administrative, organizational, and financial coordination for the MCB Graduate Program.
- Serves as a key resource and primary point of contact for internal and external program constituencies. Constituencies include students, faculty, alumni, and visitors.  
- Maintains the MCBGP website, manages all recruitment activities, manages the admissions process, manages all administrative systems and records for MCBGP, & provides overall support for the MCBGP.      

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Required:  Bachelor’s Degree with 2-4 years of administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Proven project management skills preferred
•    Experience in student services is preferred
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Access, & Powerpoint), Google docs, sheets, & calendar, and in FileMaker
•    Previous experience in an academic or research environment preferred
•    Effective customer service skills
•    Highly effective oral and written communication skills
•    Must be able to work with diverse population
•    Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion
•    Competency using a variety of computer software and University databases
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team
•    Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
•    Must be detailed-oriented and a self-starter
•    Excellent organizational skills with particular ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests
