Job Summary
All adjunct faculty positions have as their primary objective to create a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students, while contributing service to the college. Adjunct faculty responsibilities include teaching assigned courses and following the course description and course outline established by the department. Teaching schedules may include day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction and other instructional modalities.
In accordance with the Adjunct Faculty collective bargaining agreement (CBA), additional activities may include participation in departmental initiatives, evidence of academic achievements, recognition by professional and community organizations, and other duties.
Qualifications - Education
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in an appropriate discipline or five years plus professional experience required. An MFA and/or licensure in a specific discipline preferred and may be required depending on the discipline.
Qualifications - Experience
Graphic Design Adjunct positions are available to teach day and evening classes in Graphic Design, Typography, Digital Prepress, Advertising Design, Brochure & Magazine Design, Branding for Web & Other Media, Computer Graphics for Designers (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), with emphasis on critical thinking, and design problem solving. Previous teaching/supervisory experience preferred. Proficient in Adobe CS software on a Mac.
Qualifications - Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developments and technologies in related fields of specialization. Ability to teach lab courses. Ability to work with diverse groups of students. Strong visual, verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Adobe CS software on a Mac.
