Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Architecture in the Department of Architecture with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in architecture courses at the undergraduate level, including Architecture Studio, as well as in at least one of the following areas of specialization:
- Environmental Systems & Building Performance
- Digital Architecture, Computational Design, Fabrication
- Material Innovation
- Robotic Construction
- Engage in significant research, scholarship, and/or creative activities in an area of specialization. Faculty members are expected to develop and sustain a robust research agenda that contributes to the advancement of knowledge and practice in their chosen field.
- Participate in department, college, and/or university service activities.
- Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive and productive academic environment.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications Include
- An earned Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Architecture or a closely related discipline. The degree must be earned by the start date.
OR
- A terminal Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Architecture or a closely related discipline and Professional Architectural Registration.
Preferred Qualifications Include
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Environmental Systems & Building Performance
- Focus on sustainable design, building systems integration, and the optimization of energy and environmental performance in architectural projects.
- Digital Architecture, Computational Design, Fabrication
- Specialization in the use of digital tools, computational methods, and advanced fabrication techniques to explore innovative architectural design processes.
- Material Innovation
- Research and development in new materials, sustainable alternatives, and advanced material applications that push the boundaries of architectural design and construction.
- Robotic Construction
- Exploration and implementation of robotic technologies in the construction process, including automation, robotics-driven fabrication, and the future of building technology.
- Exploration and implementation of robotic technologies in the construction process, including automation, robotics-driven fabrication, and the future of building technology.
Additional preferred qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- A record of past teaching in Architecture Studio and an area of specialization
- Evidence of scholarship and/or creative activities
