Job Summary
Elizabethtown Community & Technical College is seeking a Career Services Counselor III for the Advanced Manufacturing Accelerator Project (AMAP) grant to assist students with identifying their pathways, advising them with dual credit offerings and postsecondary schedules, career counseling, and all college admissions procedures. This position will also work with the technical advanced manufacturing faculty with the redesign of the advanced manufacturing programs. This position is funded by a Department of Education grant through December of 2027.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Develop relationships in rural areas school systems, economic development offices, and industries in Breckinridge, Grayson, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington counties.
• Participate in advisory committees comprising representatives from ECTC, school districts, employers, community leaders, and economic development leaders from across the service region.
• Work with ECTC departments to promote assistance opportunities and to develop internships, externships, apprenticeship programs, and hands-on experiences for students.
• Assist and guide students and adult learners through the pre-college admissions and financial aid application processes.
• Establish relationships and partnerships with Adult Education Centers, Area Technology Centers, Career Centers, employers, school districts, and community leaders.
• Conduct job fairs, career exploration activities, and essential skills development workshops.
• Work as an active team member of the AMAP staff and input student data into student files.
• Support regional programming efforts by collaborating with other grant staff and coordinators. Regional travel to various ECTC campuses and school districts will be required.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (related field) and two years related experience, or equivalent (i.e. Master’s degree). Education or experience in guidance counseling, social work, technical education, or related field preferred.
