NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Development Manager at NASCAR Foundationbased in our Daytona Beach, Florida office.

The Development Manager is responsible for a fundraising goal of approximately $1 million in revenue by managing a combination of the fundraising initiatives outlined below. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for researching, understanding, and developing a planned giving (legacy society) revenue stream and strategy - starting with beneficiary designations. Create communication plan for inclusion of legacy society on website, newsletters, and individual correspondence. Collaborate with Trusts & Estates attorneys, wealth management advisors, and accountants to increase quantity and quality of planned giving referrals.
  • Responsible for developing and executing annual plan for Individual/Major Donor Giving Program. This includes day-to-day management of individual giving moves management and major donor prospecting. 
  • Responsible for leading major donor giving initiatives to maximize fundraising opportunities through donor solicitation and cultivation.  This includes researching prospective donors, compiling data and reports from Foundation database and other sources in which Foundation staff can use in cultivation process. 
  • Responsible for developing and executing annual plan for Employee Giving initiative. This includes monthly new hire planning and engagement, quarterly reporting, and annual company-wide program implementation.
  • Development of a grant funding strategy in which to secure corporate, foundation or individual gifts to support the programs of the Foundation.  Grant writing and submission as necessary to secure funds.    
  • Utilization, input and management of the Aegis database which houses constituent data with the ability to enter and extract data as necessary to perform job duties. 
  • Responsible for event management and execution of specific Foundation fundraising events, including Betty Jane France Memorial High Speed Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament, and providing event support to Development Coordinator during Art of Speed and two (2) License to Drive Track Laps. Additional event duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for event management and execution of specific Foundation fundraising events, including High Speed Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament and Over the Edge at ONE DAYTONA. 
  • Additional event duties as assigned.
  • Travels throughout the NASCAR Season for fundraising and event execution (up to 25%), including weekends.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversees Development Coordinator in achieving revenue benchmarks, goals and professional development.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and two to three years of fundraising, sales, marketing, administration, and/or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.                                        
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.                                                          
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.                                       
  • Proficient on Company-provided hardware and software.    
  • Must possess a passion for fundraising and demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain productive, mutually beneficial relationships with management, professional staff, third-party partners, vendors, corporate sponsors, donors, and volunteers.
  • Ability to multi-task; handle communications, logistics and follow-through on multiple events/programs concurrently.
