Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Monoshell Engineering Technician to join our Casting Facility located in Dover, New Jersey.  This Midnight shift will be Sunday Night - Thursday Night. Training will be on 1st shift Monday to Friday

This position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift.

The engineering technician supports all aspects of the Monoshell robot cells; including programming, equipment testing, operation, trouble shooting, and repair; he or she also maintains detailed reports of Process issues and applied solutions related to slurry mgt and batching.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 
  • Understand and assist manufacturing in compliance to all department activity instructions and  job specific product criteria
  • Team with manufacturing to complete robot cell start up activities to demonstrate and assure compliance to requirements
  • Liaison between manufacturing, manufacturing leadership, and maintenance to make technical decisions to protect product quality
  • Identify equipment issues and follow systems to initiate repairs 
  • Compile and analyze data for Engineering regarding process deviations
  • Assist manufacturing in slurry daily measurement and retesting as needed, verification of following appropriate reaction plans for adjustments and slurry batching
  • Assist with completion of slurry lab testing and shell mechanical testing
  • Assist Monoshell PO with developing Area Instructions and completing Training with manufacturing operators and supervision
  • Assist Monoshell PO with monitoring and completion of evaluations
  • Assist manufacturing in 5S efforts and initiatives
  • Adhere to regimented Leader standard work and complete daily report as communication tool for next shift 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimize all scrap (“save” as many parts as possible).
  • Keep all MRB inventory to an absolute minimum.
  • Disposition all customer returns immediately.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook).
  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EH&S training.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates residing within 50 miles radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 1 year working in a manufacturing environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Organization and communicate effectively
  • Familiar with the use of PC and statistical software.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel Skills
  • Working knowledge of general statistics and SPC
  • Enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s degree program from an accredited institution in Technology or Engineering, Vocational technology degree or certification.
  • Two years of college, technical training, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic Computer skills
