This position is a talent business partner which focuses on sourcing and selecting talent for specialized and niche skills for restaurant operations, field, and corporate office (support system) positions. This position is responsible for managing full cycle recruiting across all levels, including professional, managerial, and director level positions within multiple business units. Responsibilities:
- Serves as internal consultant in talent acquisition matters to the business. Maintains a working knowledge of company organizational structure, company benefits, and provides guidance to hiring managers.
- Reviews hiring needs with Department Leaders to verify individual area needs and projected staffing needs. Assists those individuals by supporting their succession planning goals and by assisting with both external and internal methods of recruitment.
- Sources, conducts searches, interviews, and assesses candidate skills sets against position requirements. Articulates the strengths and limitations to the hiring manager.
- Participates in the interview process for varying levels of Management and Staff positions.
- Maintains accurate and thorough records by tracking leads and applicants, interview results, recruiting results, new hire availability date(s), and candidate wage expectations.
- Tracks all applicants in Applicant Tracking System and provides disposition feedback on job boards to announce closed requisition(s). Ensures candidate decisions are made in a timely manner.
- Stays up to date on recruiting and retention trends for all markets and positions assigned.
- Drives candidate interview process progression, extends employment offer, and monitors progress through day 1 ready.
- Educates incumbents on Total Rewards benefits, date-of-hire timelines, and sign-on bonus/relocation disbursements, when applicable.
- Networks and partners with outside sources (business associations, universities, alumni, staffing agencies, professional organizations, social media etc.) to identify top-tier talent and build relationships for referrals.
- Coordinates and participates in job fairs with community groups and agencies, high schools, junior colleges, and universities to recruit potential candidates.
- Works with Corporate Talent Acquisition Manager and team to identify and develop new recruitment methods. Solicits feedback from incumbents and refines methods as needed.
- Actively looks for new methods for recruiting all Whataburger employees uses enabling technologies and web tools, social networking, etc.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience required
Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience directly related full cycle Talent Acquisition
- 5+ years’ experience talent acquisition experience preferably corporate environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of behavioral interviewing skills and competency-based selection
- Skilled in providing exceptional customer service
- Demonstrated ability to help build teams in matching talent to careers
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio (as applicable)
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and CRM tools
- Proficiency with Workday preferred
- Ability to communicate well with the general public and experience in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with management, candidates, and co-workers
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Working knowledge of employment laws relating to employee relations and personnel administration
- Strong conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work as a self-directed individual taking initiative to identify and address business needs
- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
Professional Certification:
- Talent Acquisition certifications preferred
- PHR certification or equivalent experience preferred
Working Conditions/Travel Requirements:
- Expected to work the necessary time to satisfactorily fulfill job responsibilities
- Must be able to report to work timely and as required by operational/business needs
- Must be able to work a full-time schedule and work outside of normal business hours when necessary
- Must be able to travel occasionally both locally and long distances (including air travel), to worksites, meeting sites, and other locations
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, submit to releasing a Motor Vehicle Record that adheres to the Whataburger standards and maintain current automobile liability at minimum levels in their state of residence
