The Northeast Health District is looking for a proactive and skilled IT Support Specialist to provide exceptional technical assistance and support to our staff. As a key member of our IT team, you’ll help resolve user issues by phone or in person, ensuring smooth operations across our organization.
As an IT Support Specialist within the Northeast Health District Computer Services at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office 365, Adobe, and various internet browsers.
- Diagnose and fix network-related issues, ensuring stable connectivity for all.
- Maintain and repair business hardware such as computers, printers, fax machines, and postage meters.
- Deliver top-notch customer service, working professionally with staff at all levels.
- Document IT solutions and provide updates on ongoing projects.
- Apply your organizational skills and critical thinking to solve technical problems efficiently.
- Adhere to established IT policies and procedures while staying flexible to adapt to evolving organizational needs.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, using your initiative and expertise to support the team.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED AND Six months of education or experience in information security, privacy, system/network administration and support, or application development AND training and experience necessary to independently provide technical support to computer users in an assigned office/geographic area.
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- BS in Computer/Information Systems or 2+ years of experience as a systems administrator in a small to medium-sized business.
- Familiarity with Active Directory (user, printer, and share management).
- Experience with VMware and other virtualization technologies.
- Scripting skills for automating operational tasks.
- Prior experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
