Shift

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm, as a standard shift. A few weekend hours will occasionally/frequently be necessary to provide animal and post-operative

care and can either replace time during the normal work-week, or count towards overtime at the individuals preference.



Job Summary

The Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center (SCoBIRC) is seeking a Lab Technician to help maintain laboratory inventory and organization as well as carry out rodent neurotrauma surgery and care, animal behavioral testing, tissue histology, and image analysis.


This position involves performing surgeries for traumatic spinal cord injury research on live animals (mice and rats) followed by twice/daily animal care, behavioral, histological and neurochemical analyses at various time points.

The successful applicant will be expected to compile and analyze experimental data and to have strong English speaking and writing skills to record experimental

results.
