NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Library Coordinator based in our Concord, North Carolina office.
This person is responsible for researching, editing, cataloging and organizing content and archive materials for use by the Library, Productions and Production Services departments.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Catalog, track and locate physical tapes and media from shelves and bins throughout the Library and offsite vault locations using the Xytech system
- Utilize Xytech (work order scheduling system) to locate, track, document and identify work orders and tasks as needed
- Complete the appropriate paperwork to process requests and inquiries made by internal and external clients
- Coordinate shipments via standard shipping methods and courier services as directed
- Provide back-up coverage for the department during various times of day, including holidays and weekends; includes filling in for the At-Track Coordinator position as needed
- Research and conduct basic editing of footage for clip reels and other special projects
- Catalog footage from the field for use in short-turnaround programming and long-term archives using the Perfect Memory Media Asset Management System; determine edit points for clips, add data to describe each shot and research the material for accurate information throughout the Archives and asset management system
- Assist Production and Production Services by logging and editing content for use in projects and programs
- QC full race cutdowns for NASCAR Classics website
- Assist with preparing content for NASCAR FAST Channel, including pre-produced content and full race cutdowns from Classics website
- Work efficiently and manage time to complete multiple projects within given deadlines
- Travel: <5%
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required skills / experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 (two) years related experience and/or training in broadcast, new media or journalism is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient on Company provided hardware and software. Experience with Apple and Mac OS is not essential, but beneficial to the job. Additional knowledge of Perfect Memory, Adobe Premiere, Xytech and other production-based applications (Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and HTML) is a bonus.
- Basic typing and spelling skills
- Minor problem solving and detailed research skills are necessary for performing many of the duties of the position; includes use of media guides, archived materials and specific web related research tools
- Attention to detail, the ability to work independently and perform under short deadlines
- Knowledge of the industry, its personalities and history including, but not limited to the national and touring series.
