SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented systems engineer to support software development on our Futures Systems team.  This is a unique opportunity to join a small business developing core capabilities for defense. Candidates will develop and implement model-based systems engineering processes in support of the Agile software development programs for our Future Systems team. SciTec seeks a candidate who will thrive in an environment where they can solve challenging engineering problems in support of national security objectives. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Developing and implementing systems engineering processes aligned with contract goals 
  • Coordinate and collaborate with customers, program managers, software developers and other systems engineers
  • Mentor other SciTec staff in systems engineering processes and methodologies
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are key for this role
  • Design and model systems architectures for remote sensor data processing systems
  • Develop and design artifacts using Model Based Systems Engineering and SysML
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science. 
  • Ten (10) years of professional experience in engineering, computer science, or remote sensing. 
  • Five (5) years of experience specifically in systems engineering. 
  • Two (2) years of experience specifically with MBSE 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 

Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred 

  • Domain experience with remote sensor systems or software architecture, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing. 
  • Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fields. 
  • Additional professional experience in systems engineering beyond five years. 
  • Familiarity with the Cameo family of tools. 
  • Experience with Agile software development methods. 
  • Demonstrated experience in project leadership. 
  • Graduate degrees or coursework in Systems Engineering or related fields. 
  • An active SECRET DoD security clearance or higher

The pay range for this position is $96,000-$141,000/year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
