Job Description:
A Proctor is a part time staff position within the KHSU-KansasCOM. Proctors are responsible for providing secure exam delivery in a comfortable and friendly environment. KHSU-KansasCOM proctored exams are computer-based.
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Comply and enforce all testing procedures, practices and policies
- Ensures respect for student information and student confidentiality through FERPA compliance
- Resolve testing issues that may arise during exams
- Perform administrative tasks associated with test center operations as requested
- Minimal housekeeping duties such as sanitizing earmuffs, cleaning white boards, etc.
- Walk or stand in your assigned area to observe students
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION(S):
- High School Diploma
- Prior proctoring experience preferred by not required
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills
- Ability to maintain calm demeanor when testing issues arise
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of privileged information
- Customer-service oriented; including the ability to balance customer service with enforcement of testing security
- Position requires being standing or walking for extended periods of time.
- Hired proctor will typically be offered 2-10 hours every other week, depending on availability and need. In general, applicants interested should be available to proctor at least two days per month.
