Job Summary

The LSAMP program is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). It aims to expand the nation’s STEM workforce by supporting a network of institutions of higher education to increase the number of STEM baccalaureate and graduate degrees awarded to individuals of all different backgrounds sharing the value that we are many people and one community.



Role Summary – The LSAMP Program Coordinator II will oversee the University of Kentucky’s participation in current and future NSF LSAMP Alliance programs. This role is pivotal in coordinating comprehensive strategies to enhance student success, retention, and progression in STEM disciplines.



Key Responsibilities



· Organize and manage regular meetings and activities for the LSAMP cohort and Alliance members.

· Lead the preparation of required reports and documentation, including quarterly and annual check-ins.

· Facilitate data collection processes to support program evaluation and impact assessment.

· Plan and execute major events such as the annual LSAMP symposium and coordinate group travel for conferences and seminars.

· Support the Principal Investigator (PI) and co-Principal Investigators (co-PIs) in various program initiatives and tasks.



Qualifications



· Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, STEM fields, or related areas. Advanced degree preferred.

· Experience in program coordination or administration, preferably in higher education or related fields.

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from different educational, cultural, and economic backgrounds.

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
