Job Summary
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Kentucky (UK) are currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible research faculty member at rank determined by qualifications. Extramural funding is not required. Competitive start-up funds and appropriate space will be offered.
The successful applicant is expected to develop and sustain a research program with external funding applicable to PM&R. This program should both complement and enhance the existing expertise within the University of Kentucky found in its numerous colleges-College of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, College of Engineering, and centers including the Center for Advanced Translational Stroke Science (CATSS), Markey Cancer Center, Graduate Center for Biomedical Engineering, Spinal Cord & Brain Injury Research Center, and the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS). Given the broad research expertise at UK, opportunities within multiple areas of focus exist including spinal cord, traumatic brain injury, stroke, other neurorehabilitation, cancer, physical activity and cognitive therapies, musculoskeletal, technology and devices. Candidates whose research augments the departments relationships with the above colleges and centers involving clinical translational research are of particular interest.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have doctoral-level research experience with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury or stroke research. Both basic science and clinical research experience are desired. Awareness and understanding of patient populations being served (through advocacy experience, clinical interactions, etc.) are desired.
