Summary:
The position requires an experienced Senior Engineer with a strong focus on cloud native services, AI, Data Engineering, DevOps, Automation and creating reusable platforms. The ideal candidate should have expertise in designing complex systems, self-service user and admin portals and cloud-based services, with expert-level experience in AWS and additional experience in GCP or Azure being a plus. We are looking for someone who can learn a lot and quickly on the job, and we have projects using the latest and greatest technology and methodology.
The candidate must be able to code, develop, analyze and design end to end Cloud-Native solutions that uses AI and cloud services to automate complex tasks and simplify user experience. The candidate should have a deep understanding of DevOps/Infrastructure-As-Code (IaC) delivery models, Cloud Network, Security, Application architecture, genAI concepts, data engineering and usage models. The candidate must be experienced with Agile, DevOps and test-oriented system design philosophies, as well as ability to interface with other teams that may need education on cloud & AI best practices.

Skills - Must Have
- The ideal candidate must be a strong Senior Developer and have experience using AWS services beyond just EC2s and Databases. Expertise in serverless, managed services, API-Governance, Basic Networking is required. Strong coding skills are expected.
- Skilled with AWS Step Functions, JavaScript, NodeJS and Python, especially APIGW/Lambda and Elastic Beanstalks.
- Strong understanding of basic cloud networking is required to assist in troubleshooting and designing optimized solutions.
- The candidate must have hands-on experience with cloud projects and will be expected to demonstrate the ability to deliver quality script, code and test suites.
- Must have some experience with AI SDK and services, including genAI, prompt engineering, agents and using multiple LLM models.
- Must have working experience with deep-dive HTTPS troubleshooting,
- Must have lots of experience with REST API and design, GraphQL and React/CSS front end.
- The candidate should have demonstrated knowledge or experience with CloudFormation at scale and reuse, and the ability to influence multiple workstreams with reusable IaC components.
- The candidate should also have experience developing large-scale, multi-account, multi-region, serverless solutions on AWS and addressing all non-functional and AWS Well-Architected concerns in the design.
- Must be able to design for end-user simplicity while ensuring the system can handle complexity and exceptions internally.
- The candidate should have experience in breaking down projects into MVP and Agile deliverables, delivering complex end systems incrementally.
- Must be able to design for disaster recovery in IaaS Cloud platform and possess strong scripting skills, such as Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, PowerShell, SSM, etc.
- Must have experience with managing substantial numbers of cloud accounts consistently using automation. Cloud SDK, CLI and scripting hands-on knowledge is necessary.
- Good listener and communicator. Strong verbal, non-verbal diagramming, and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
- Experience with working and building an automated build-pipeline, continuous integration, and continuous deployment. Experience with source code control repositories
- In-depth understanding of Interface-Contracts, Loosely Coupled designs and simplifying solutions and reducing TCO for the end-to-end picture.
- Experience creating and maintaining an Enterprise Internal Development Platform or equivalent highly reusable components or services.
- Prior success in automating a real-world problem from manual parts
- Expertise in Cloud security and access models
- Data engineering background as well as working knowledge programming with genAI is a big plus.
- Management of continuous integration servers like AWS Code Pipeline, Code Build.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools
- Strong practical Linux and Windows-based server configuration, CLI, Script and automation skills, particularly in a Cloud environment.
- Skilled with producing well-designed UX with self-service solutions using Reacts GUI using REST/GraphQL API securely is a big plus.
- Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across environments.
- AWS Service Catalog experience is a big plus.
- Experience with automated testing and unit test tools and processes is a big plus
- Experience building and supporting serverless automation in AWS
- Expertise in PaaS, and SaaS methodologies, network integration and controls
- Experience architecting micro-service based cloud solutions
- Experience with AI/ML prompt development and solutions would be a big plus, but training can be given on the job.
- Be a Strong Developer & Engineer that the team depends on tackle difficult problems, produce automation, and prove out abstract solutions.
- Create and provide long-term sustainable application, engineering, and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot difficult cases, especially those involving full range of cloud, system, network problems, including helping other teams with systems that we did not build.
- Assist with getting other departments and colleagues to be familiar with our cloud operating model and services.
- Consider designs for long term, scale, resiliency, Cost, Security, and maintainability.
- Quickly learn new services as they come out of AWS, Azure and GCP.
- Work on a wide range of innovative Cloud uses cases.
- Create code-assets and tools to accelerate cloud projects.
- Will be an automation advocate - you genuinely believe in removing operation load with software. Ability to automate manual processes and write code to expediate detection and mitigation of issues in the environment.
- Work with other app-dev teams to develop new cloud hosted services
- Partner with service providers both internal and external to design and implement cloud data systems in the BMS cloud environment.
- Education and training of teams
- Document, Design/Build automation tools and APIs
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or commensurate experience.
- At least 5+ years of experience as a hands-on coding role in projects related to cloud, software development and/or Cloud Center of Excellence (COE).
- At least 3+ years directly working with AWS cloud as a developer.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Willingness to occasionally work in a 24x7 on-call cycle to manage escalations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (content creation such as whitepapers, system diagrams, etc.).
- Ability to explain complex technology concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels in the organization.
- AWS Certified Developer
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer; Associate or Professional
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate a plus
