The Role

Fidelity's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is seeking a motivated Squad Leader/Product Owner with a passion for building business critical Fraud Prevention capability, using a range of data science, machine learning, software and data management technologies and tools. This is an individual contributor role.

The Team

FIU strives to protect Fidelity businesses, clients, customers, and reputation by providing fraud management services, optimally balancing risk and customer experience. The Fraud Prevention organization within FIU deploys advanced AI/ML products inline in customer journeys to combat fraud for enterprise-wide financial products and services, working closely with business unit partners, vendors, fraud detection, investigation, surveillance and technology teams.

Responsibilities

Fraud prevention squad leader will lead the development of Customer Fraud Risk (CFR) prevention products through tight collaboration with Fraud Detection team, surveillance and investigation analysts team leaders, learning of evolving fraud patterns for consideration in product enhancements, and aligning on product designs and roadmaps. Responsibilities include:

  • Defining and maintaining product backlog, prioritizing items based on fraud prevention, customer experience and operational efficiency needs, and collaborating with stakeholders to capture requirements.
  • Setting strategic direction for AI/ML workstreams around data identification, collection and qualification activities. Providing clarity on user stories and features to the data science and engineering team.
  • Supervising all stages of product creation, including design and development. Ensuring the product roadmap aligns with the overall Prevention and Detection Product Area vision and goals.
  • Collaborating with customer experience owners and business technology teams to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
  • Working in an agile environment refine priorities and outline expectations. Being open to change and ready to adjust based on feedback. Coordinating sprints and scheduling releases. Serving as the technical liaison to the supported business groups. Leading CFR business integration activities.
  • Producing product performance metrics and using them to identify improvement opportunities. Preparing business presentations to demonstrate results and alignment to expected outcomes. Building daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Staying informed about new technologies and product features and how they can be used to our advantage.

Required Skills

  • Understanding of fraud landscape, business use cases, money movement, payments and account maintenance customer experiences and brokerage platforms capabilities.
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and team members to drive collaboration and alignment through positive relationships.
  • Experience driving end-to-end delivery of AI/ML, data driven intelligence solutions.
  • Background in launching products or services in partnership with engineering teams in iterative manner.
  • Balanced technical engineering/architecture knowledge and business acuity.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of product development experience.
  • Hands on experience with Python, SQL, Excel and BI analytics tools.
