Overview

LMI is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with experience in GEOINT to join a dynamic team providing end-to-end Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) services support an Intelligence Community client.

Responsibilities

  • Support capability and solution definition for future space systems through various system readiness events and independent review teams
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPT’s) working groups that will review and assess the maturity of engineering Artifacts, CONOPS, Interfaces, and Architecture products
  • Participate in developing architecture and requirement baselines, establishing and assessing mission capabilities
  • Provide project management support; development of requirements, project plans, needs assessment, and transition planning.
  • Assist in the creation of quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics
  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures
  • Participate in design reviews of to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation
  • Apply the principles of MBSE to major system acquisitions in the GEOINT domain
  • Assess engineering artifacts and develop models of mission systems using a MBSE tool suite that includes DOORS Next Generation, Cameo and other COTS tools
  • Participate in collaborative meetings between the GEOINT space system subject matter experts (SMEs) and MBSE and SysML experts to identify and implement modeling solutions

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • 5 plus years experience with BS/BA, 8 or more years with MS/MA, or 5 or more years with PhD in Technical degree/STEM (engineering, physics, etc.) 
  • Demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering area(s) including but not limited to: Requirements Engineering, Systems Integration, Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO).
  • Domain knowledge of customer's mission capabilities (to include any combination of GEOINT, COMM, SIGINT, and Multi-INT domains) and overall space and ground architecture.
  • Experience in assessing space protection defensive related requirements, CONOPS, architecture products, and risks for end-to-end closure of the baseline for Space protection related activities.
  • Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPS development, and system integration to accommodate End to End Systems Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems to further organizational goals.
  • Experience with DOORS requirements database.
  • Experience with MBSE, SysML, Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with requirements closure, threat scenarios and analysis and VV&T that align to an agile development approach.
  • Understanding of the System Engineering "v" process and application in digital engineering.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to lead/support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to support the customer’s needs, clearly communicate (orally & written) ideas, work autonomously. 

Desired:

  • Experience with Agile Development, SAFE Agile system development methods
  • Knowledge and practical application of UML / SysML modeling languages and experience applying this common structure to an MBSE solution.
  • Understand how system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities are enabled by MBSE across the digital thread (the engineering lifecycle). Foundational to MBSE are tools, technologies, and methodologies that can collectively be called digital engineering.
  • OCSMP Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications
