Essential Job Functions Responsible for maintaining department inventory of slurry raw materials based on consumption and expected usage. Coordinates with receiving to deliver additional materials. Performs dip manufacturing by following basic processing setups: Following and completing the batch formulations sheets in IPC Carefully weighing and recording all batch components Testing all dip properties and recording data on batch formulation sheets including viscosity, pate weight, density, percent solids, pH, conductivity and temperature Qualify dip prior to releasing to production Input’s data into the slurry database (IPC) Manage the age/reserve pots: Performs viscosity, plate weight and percent solids checks on all required dips and makes necessary adjustments using documented reaction plans Periodically clean dip pots (Cleans age and reserve dip pots rims and paddles at least once per week) Inputs data into slurry database (IPC). Transport dip and replenishes pots on all required dip pots. In conjunction with the process owner, this position manages the batching calendar requirements. Maintain all waste slurry and materials in accordance with EHS requirements and department specified activity instructions. Report issues with dips and dip pots back to the supervisor and Monoshell process owner. Perform weekly lab testing on all age and reserve slurries per AI280.01.16. This task will be alternated on a Bi-weekly basis between slurry manufactures. Conduct change out of all non-slurry prewets, rinses and washes based on instruction requirements. Perform calibration on viscosity cups, plates and pycnometers on a quarterly basis or as instructed by the Monoshell process owner. Coordinate and manage responsibilities in conjunction with peer Monoshell Operator II workers. Must complete Monoshell training program and pass a competency performance test at the end of 6-12 months of on-the-job training. Must be able to perform Monoshell Operator activities. The responsibilities of this position will involve loading and unloading various blades, vanes, and other OEM parts into and out of furnaces in the Low-Temperature Furnace Department. Additionally, the duties will include setting up and monitoring furnace controls, smutting, and water-washing parts.&nbsp; All training necessary to successfully perform these jobs will be provided in-house by Howmet. Essential Functions Monitor, modify, and execute furnace programs using the provided instructions. Prepare source materials (powders) and activators in pans per standard work instructions to achieve desired results. Job Responsibilities <ul><li>Review work instructions, stored electronically and written in English, for each job assignment to ensure compliance with product requirements.</li><li>Load parts in an orderly manner ensuring walls of containers are clear, and that parts are submerged properly into powder and placed so they do not touch one another.</li><li>Inspect parts to ensure they are properly masked and are uniform before submitting to the process.</li><li>Depending upon the process, workers may be required to remove masking solids from parts after the process is completed. This process is called “Smutting” and involves the employee working at a manual blast cabinet to place each part into the cabinet and rotate while a fine grit is used to blast off the remaining masking material.</li><li>Prepare and complete paperwork covering areas of responsibility (Loading Diagrams), ensure sample/test piece is properly placed within containers, and verify&nbsp;accuracy of documentation submitted (check&nbsp;the part number, quantity, and order number against material received).</li><li>Move filled boats to properly sized shoe box using designated rolling tables and lift devices.&nbsp; Attach thermocouples to each level as needed.</li><li>As processes are completed, the operator will remove and inspect parts and place them back into the cartons they were originally received.</li><li>Fill out all related paperwork, i.e., routers and/or internal records following PMS and Activity Instructions.</li><li>Properly enter Cycle Ramp Rates, Soak Times, and Cycle Times per Process Sheets. Solid interpersonal and communication skills Able to lift/move up to 30 pounds Assists with inspecting components to the proper customer and production specifications Perform housekeeping duties on a regular basis as necessary Prepare daily production reports and forms Assists other operators with processing activities such as components weight counting, parts movement between location Adheres to Howmet EH&amp;S, Quality, and other company policies Attention to detail and strong communication skills are required.&nbsp; Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is desired or have a background working with machinery.&nbsp; Prefer previous hands-on experience using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers and reading blueprints. This position will physically require the incumbent to perform duties standing, walking, overhead reaching, lifting (35 – 40lbs), pushing and pulling totes, and leaning over machines, all equally on a regular basis. High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution preferred but not required Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.&nbsp; Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.&nbsp; Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
