Accountant

Position Overview 

The Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting specific business divisions and is responsible for monthly close tasks, financial reporting, bank account reconciliations, and assisting with audits and special projects. 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Perform necessary entries required for the monthly closing of the assigned business divisions.
  • Analyze and record lending activities, including maintaining loan schedules for the lending business.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including budget/forecast comparisons and prior period analyses.
  • Conduct bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for selected GL accounts, addressing non-cash items.
  • Assist with the preparation of schedules required for the external financial audit and tax preparation.
  • Serve as a key contact for auditors' inquiries, providing necessary information and documentation.
  • Create and update desktop procedures for all assigned tasks, ensuring consistent and efficient processes.
  • Contribute to various ad hoc projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. 

Key Qualifications 

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in top-tier ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar.
  • Strong command of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel, including IF statements, Macros, Pivots, and VLOOKUP.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a structured accounting department.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Capable of organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks to meet daily deadlines. 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Experience in the financial services (e.g., banking) industry is a plus. 
  • Prior experience with a Big 4 CPA firm or large national firm is preferred. 

Special Work Conditions  

  • Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.  
Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.The compensation range for this position is:$67,000—$72,000 USD
