Job Summary
Jackson State Community College is seeking 9-month Nursing Faculty. Our nursing faculty positions aim to prepare students for a successful career in nursing by teaching and socializing students to professional nursing roles in the classroom, lab, and acute-care clinical environments. Nursing faculty members also participate in student advisement, team and committee assignments, professional development, and campus activities.
Job Duties
- 75% - • Provide effective classroom, lab and clinical instruction; assess and evaluate student learning; and utilize data to improve learning outcome achievement - (Essential)
- 10% - • Participate in academic student advisement and recruitment - (Essential)
- 5% - • Contribute to program assessment, evaluation, development and accreditation - (Marginal)
- 5% - • Contribute positively to team/committee work and college-wide initiatives - (Marginal)
- 5% - • Maintain professional communications, engage in practice, and professional development - (Marginal)
Minimum Qualifications
• BSN degree from a nationally accredited nursing program and institution
• Three (3) years of recent direct-care clinical experience
• Unencumbered TN or multi-state registered nurse license
• Fulfill requirements for acceptable clinical agency placement (at intervals required by the agency), including, but not limited to: negative drug screen, acceptable background check, CPR certification, immunizations and health screenings, annual trainings, policy and procedure verifications, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
• MSN degree with graduate-level clinical, health assessment, pharmacology and pathophysiology coursework, or current enrollment in a nationally accredited MSN program and institution
• Prior teaching experience in an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

• Critical thinking ability sufficient for clinical judgment.
• Ability to interact with individuals, families, and groups from a variety of social, emotional, cultural, and intellectual backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate sufficient for interactions with others in verbal and written forms.
• Physical mobility with gross and fine motor abilities sufficient to provide safe and effective nursing care for hospitalized clients.
• Auditory abilities sufficient to monitor and assess health needs.
• Visual ability sufficient for observation and assessment necessary in nursing care.
• Tactile ability sufficient for physical assessment.
Pay Rate: $52,764 - $63,317 Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
