  • Engaging in scholarly activities individually and collaboratively.

  • Utilizing a variety of active learning methodologies to instruct students and collecting evidence of students meeting or exceeding learning outcomes, competencies, entrustable activities, and ultimately practice readiness.
  • Participating in professional growth and service in accordance with university policies.
  • Enthusiastically engaging in student recruitment, remediation, and retention to support the admissions and progression goals of the program.
  • *If directed by the Department Chair, develop a clinical practice site to serve patients and train students for experiential education. Within this clinical setting you will:
    • Assume responsibility for students in clinical facilities.
    • Clarify clinical expectations with students.
    • Clarify student placement and expectations with clinical facility staff.
    • Utilize care planning time to direct students to available resources needed for clinical preparation.
    • Assess student knowledge and skill level to ensure safety and optimal care for patients.
    • Utilize pre- and post- conference to allow students an opportunity to share learned experiences, ensuring clarity of the correlation between weekly theory content with clinical objectives and experiences.
    • Provide feedback of clinical performance immediately after observation of event and of overall performance at midterm and end of semester.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS office products as needed.
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards (e.g., ACPE, NABP, WSCUC, California Board of Pharmacy or other regulators and/or accreditation bodies).
  • *If directed by the Department Chair to develop a clinical practice site, current California Registered Pharmacist License is required or acquired within six months of hire.

Education: Education and experience must align with state regulations and comply with the rules and regulations of state authorization agencies.

  • Must have a PharmD degree OR a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy plus 10 years professional experience in the areas of expertise or practice AND must have a documented background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments including but not limited to education theory and practice, current concepts relative to specific subjects he or she will be teaching, current clinical practice experience, and distance education techniques and delivery.
