Job Summary
This position will serve a very important role as the College Payroll Specialist Senior managing the day to day payroll operations for the College of Education.
College Payroll Specialist Senior job responsibilities are as follows:
- Serve as the College of Education contact for all payroll, processing the actions in SAP for staff, faculty, students, temporary, and other employees as needed.
- Review payroll using reports and spreadsheets to ensure accuracy when processing the BW and MO payrolls, resolve discrepancies prior to deadlines, manage spreadsheets that track new hires and updates for all employees.
- Enter and maintain cost distributions for all employees using the CDEM system.
- Use the IES system to post staff, part-time instructors, student and temporary position requests, initiate background checks and I-9’s for new hires.
- Maintain spreadsheet of position updates and ongoing searches.
- Pre-reviewer for grant certifications in eCRT.
- Serve as liaison with the university central offices of Payroll, Compensation, and Employment; work with the International Center on visa applications.
- Develop and maintain payroll reports in SAP, Spinifex, and Tableau.
- Create, develop, and implement initiatives to promote excellent customer service; take advantage of training & professional development opportunities
- Work closely with college administrators, department chairs, and business officers to ensure that all policies & procedures are followed.
- Respond to the shared email requests in a timely manner. Assist with creating HR/Payroll materials for monthly Fiscal Operations Group (FOG) meetings including follow up notes.
- Manage time entry for biweekly staff, meeting deadlines for all payroll finals, run time entry reports for accuracy.
- Work with post award and grant management.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
All Microsoft Office products. Ability to utilize query based reporting tools such as Tableau.

Preferred Education/Experience
Experience in human resource and payroll functions at a University or non-profit entity is preferred.
