JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Accounting Intern at Greystar, you will gain hands-on experience in a wide range of accounting functions, mirroring the responsibilities of our full-time Accountants. Your role will involve key areas such as cash management, banking operations, accounts payable, capital transactions, and financial reporting. Our Accounting Interns have the opportunity to work across various corporate lines of business, including Investments, the Office of the CFO, Development & Construction, and Enterprise Services. This diverse exposure ensures a comprehensive learning experience and a robust understanding of the multifaceted accounting landscape at Greystar.
Responsibilities:
- Interns will apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information, reconcile financial statements, prepare general and standard journal entries, assist in budget development, and prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management.
- Learn and understand the line of business, day-to-day responsibilities of the team, and how it functions within the broader real estate business
- Complete in-house training programs for various applications and operational techniques
- Work closely with Senior Team members to complete and analyze financial and administrative reports
- Build relationships and partner with other Greystar teams to reach goals
- Conduct research and prepare an assessment of a conceptual idea within the department
Qualifications:
- Desire to learn about private accounting within a leading real estate company
- A quantitative background, basic finance and accounting knowledge, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- High standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and speed under time-sensitive deadlines
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in real estate, finance, business, or a related major
- Graduating between December 2025 and May 2026
The compensation for this position is $26.75 per hour.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation is based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for a discretionary weekly, monthly and/or quarterly bonus based on budget.
