JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or equivalent experience; Master of Business Administration or CPA (preferred)
- Minimum five years of accounting experience, with two years’ automotive accounting experience preferred
- Excellent coaching and employee development skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of dealership financial statements (preferred)
- Ability to explain technical financial information in an understandable manner
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience in a shared service environment (preferred)
- Experience with system implementation/change management (preferred)
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, hire, develop, coach, and retain a team of BOS Accounting Managers to achieve operational excellence in control and general ledger administration and other accounting and support functions
- Foster a superior customer service culture in all interactions with all internal and external
- Continuously identify and implement opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness in accounting processes, with engagement from field and BOS stakeholders
- Oversee day to day accounting operations performed by the BOS to ensure all transactions are recorded in compliance with all AutoNation accounting processes and policies
- Resolve performance or compliance related issues/escalations for stores and/or corporate teams
- Review and update training material for the Department specific to job aids
- Manage process improvement projects with multiple stakeholders to identify and create long term solutions with the integration of technology and process design
- Maintain suitable internal controls to ensure adherence to AutoNation policies and procedures
- Consistently meet Service Level Agreements in all areas of the department
- Ensure the preparation of financial statements in accordance with established timelines
- Interpreting and analyzing financial statements
- Act as liaison between region leadership and key operational BOS departments
- Assist in completion of annual reviews and audits
- Complete month-end accounting reports, as required, and verify month-end close activities are completed accurately
- Run and reviewing expense trend reports, as required
