The primary responsibilities of this individual will be to provide administrative leadership as the Director of Surgical Pathology as the section director for the histology and surgical pathology laboratories; provide clinical subspecialty surgical pathology services; provide classroom teaching to students and clinical teaching to residents, and to participate in scholarly initiatives of the Department and the College of Medicine. There is a strong preference for a candidate with demonstrated leadership capacity and the ability to become a senior department leader. The division has 24 surgical pathologists who provide coverage to 1,086 licensed beds at Chandler Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital at the north end of campus. The Director, Criminal Justice Programs works in collaboration with the Dean, ADASA, Director of Recruitment, Director of Advising, Director of Admissions, and faculty, among others, to carry out the mission and goals of the Criminal Justice programs. The Director, Criminal Justice Programs may have direct reports, including Program Directors, Assistant Program Directors, etc. As a general rule, any staff person devoting more than 50% of their time to a specific program will report to the Director.
