Job Summary
Reporting to the Adult Education Program Director, the ESL Teacher is responsible for teaching English language and literacy to adult learners with limited English proficiency according to Tennessee Adult Education ESL content standards and assessment competencies while accommodating individual learner’s needs and goals. In addition, this position will serve as lead for all ESL programs and assist the director with state initiates including ESL reporting, state meetings and development of other ESL teachers and materials.
Job Duties
• Follow the TN Division of Adult Education Assessment Policy for pre- and post-testing to assess and evaluate students to determine their progress and potential for advancement to the next National Reporting System (NRS) level utilizing the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS).
• Provide orientation for new ESL students including CASAS proctoring.
• Administer assessment, interpret scores, and advise students on their performance on the test.
• Provide instruction to a multi-level class in reading, writing, speaking, and listening for every lesson.
• Maintain student attendance and records of progress in accordance with the Division of Adult Education requirements.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Program Director of Adult Education, the Testing Proctor is responsible for providing instructional, registration, and intake orientation - related services for potential and current students and faculty on a daily basis. Position will administer and ensure secure testing has been administered in the various locations. In addition, this position provides a variety of clerical duties in support of the Adult Education program.
Job Duties
• Verify the identity and eligibility of each HiSET test taker.
• Direct test takers to their specific seats, distribute and collect test books to and from each test taker individually.
• Verify that no one, including test personnel, is using a cell phone during the test administration.
• Answer general (procedural) questions.
• Observe test takers during testing session to guard against improper conduct and to establish that every test taker is working on the appropriate section of the test. Check to ensure that test takers are gridding their answers properly and NOT in the test book.
• Check restrooms immediately after test begins, and periodically thereafter, to be sure that the rooms contain no testing aids (books, notes, writings on towels or walls).
• Monitor and account for test materials throughout testing session.
• Clear the memory of each calculator (if applicable) before dismissing test takers to confirm that no test content is being removed or concealed.
• Verify that prohibited devices and testing aids are not being used in the test center, during the administration and during any breaks.
• Maintain testing surveillance logs, seating charts and other documentation as required.
• Maintain the security of all testing materials:
• Prepare a written inventory of all secure testing materials used during each test administration.
• Maintain the inventory documentation in the permanent secure store area.
• Conduct testing session in accordance with ETS policies and procedure as set forth in this Program manual and any supplemental memoranda from ETS.
• Control testing session by following all ETS procedures for conducting a testing session under standard conditions or, when appropriate, with accommodations for test takers with disabilities or health-related needs.

Student Financial Services: Process financial aid transactions; scan and verify pertinent documentation; keep apprised of changes in student status and react accordingly; inform students of changes and how such affects financial aid status or eligibility; represent Student Financial Services area during Open House, FAFSA Fever, or other such events; respond to related inquiries and complaints in a positive manner; maintain current knowledge of related federal, state, TBR and institutional regulations; assist with processing and reconciliation of student book vouchers.
Prepare forms, reports, records, and correspondence; receive and respond to related mail, phone calls and other inquiries timely and positively; maintain contacts and reconcile discrepancies with external parties.
Maintain physical and/or electronic documentation according to policy.
Assist with reconciling accounts; post, balance and code data; prepare related records, logs and reports.
Maintain and order supplies for Student Financial Services.
Other duties as assigned by the Bursar.
Working Conditions:
Sedentary: Deskwork; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities. Some activities may occur outside of normal working hours. Insignificant physical effort other than normal movement.&nbsp; Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
Required Qualifications:
At least two years general office experience with data entry, bookkeeping, cashiering, customer service and/or technical experience. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including on-line computer systems. Strong computer skills, excellent verbal and written skills, and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required.&nbsp; Must have the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply DSCC policies and procedures.&nbsp; Must be able to work independently and handle a variety of complicated assignments simultaneously.&nbsp; Must have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and be a team player.&nbsp; Must be able to accurately process refunds, deductions and payments, invoices, vouchers and related forms and data. Ability to undertake analytical assignments requiring judgement and initiative. Must be able to determine and take action to correct errors. &nbsp;

Title: Director, Welcome Center
POSITION SUMMARY The Director of the Welcome Center is responsible for overseeing the student enrollment experience at Nashville State’s student welcome center on the Whitebridge Road Campus and coordinating similar services on the College’s extended campuses throughout its service region.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides leadership, management and operational strategies to advance Welcome Center goals and initiatives. Supervises Welcome Center staff. Engages in both short and long-term planning for the delivery of student services, including establishing a process for continuously evaluating the student experience to evolve services and improve student satisfaction. Directs the delivery of new student orientation to students via in-person, virtual and online formats. Coordinates one-stop enrollment services for new students, including admissions, financial aid and career exploration and development.
Provides strategic direction, planning and oversight for functional operations of student recruitment and outreach, from initial student inquiries through application. Supports student outreach via the College’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, continually assessing effectiveness and developing new strategies for more effective outreach. Plans and manages on-campus and off-campus recruiting, including high school recruiting events, and maintains appropriate relationships with area high schools and community partners to facilitate recruiting. Creates and manages the department budget.
Collaborates with other departments, such as financial aid, admissions and records and the student success center, ensure Welcome Center staff are trained on the most up-to-date information and processes. Plans, markets and communicates upcoming Welcome Center events. Manages student communication strategies and arranges sufficient staff to support communication delivery methods, including phone calls, mailings, emails, texts and web. Leads the redesign of policies, processes and practices to support staff knowledge, awareness and decision-making. Proactively seeks solutions to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree.
Five (5) years’ experience leading or coordinating services in a high school or college setting.
Three (3) years’ experience in a student services role in a higher education environment.
Prior management-level experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in higher education, management or leadership.
Experience with Ellucian/Banner student management system and Slate CRM.
Experience managing a college one-stop center for students.
General knowledge of financial aid programs.
Two (2) years’ experience in a financial aid or admissions office.

Serves as Grill Cook&nbsp; – Multi-tasking skills on grill orders, maintain speed without compromising food quality, execute grill menu items to order, and assists with Food Service Director in various Cafeteria functions. A Grill Cook should have a passion for food, working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and time management. 
Role will be responsible for the following:
